Cross-selling

Many of my projects were/are in sales domain and heard this term "Cross-selling" few times. Was just curious to find out the meaning of this term and found it in Wikipedia.
Cross-selling is the strategy of selling other products to a customer who has already purchased (or signaled their intention to purchase) a product from the vendor.
Now it makes sense why business users are interested in knowing if the sales were from Cross-selling. Most of the times Cross-selling will focus on selling the attachments/accessories to the primary product that are sold by the vendor. And analysis on Cross-selling would lead to focus on the right attachments to be provided or to be marketed to the customers.
Update: When I was searching for this term I came across "Up-selling" and I have been a victim of this type of selling many-a-times.
Increasing the cost to the customers by offering options that they may not have thought of asking for.
In the car service station, I was told about a lubricant that will clean the whole engine which I was not aware of or thought of using it for my car. I ended up saying Ok to it and I think this is a classical Up-selling example.
