Kempfort - Lord Shiva temple or amusement park

Thursday, June 30, 2005

Kemp fort - A shopping mall in Bangalore, which also hosts a giant Lord Shiva's statue behind the shop. I have been to this shop many times and few times to pray Lord Shiva. I always used to feel peaceful when I come around the statue and see the different avatars of Lord Shiva being portrayed, but not during my last visit. They have commercialized this place too much - too many shops, ticket to enter the temple (though they claim that it's going to a charity), mechanized stunts like Naradhar blinking eyes, Snake hissing and more. Whew, my basic idea to attain peacefulness by visiting temple is gone for a toss.

Extra: Also visited the kids section of the shop and found so many interesting board games and also some very interesting remotely controllable toy vehicles (1:4 size compared to the original car version). Was just drooling over those remotely controllable cars as gaming and toys always fascinate me.

Yeah Mohan, I know what you mean. You want to have a quiet moment alone and you hear buzzing of tourists. I guess people don't appreciate divinity anymore.

Yes Nayna. I used to go there when I need some peace, now I prefer to stay back @home.
